The List: A Right Fiction Podcast

Favorite Film Scores w/ Daniel J. Bowen (Composer, Arranger, Pianist, and Filmmaker)

Episode Summary

This is not the first time, we have ventured into talking about Film scores. The first time was a bit scattered because we realized, most of us (except Brendan) had a difficult time distinguishing between film scoring and film soundtracks. Therefore, we wanted to take another crack at examining exactly what makes a film score a film score. Also, as this is The List we also wanted to discuss the merits of film scores as art and, of course, give our favorites. Now that we’re digging deeper into this topic, we thought we definitely needed an expert on here to help us out. Special guest: Daniel Bowen Daniel J. Bowen, an Eastern Maryland native, is a self-taught music composer, arranger, pianist, and filmmaker. He has worked with top producers in the music industry, and has composed orchestral arrangements for Grammy winning artists and national television broadcasts. In September of 2017, Daniel launched Symphony 21 in hopes to create a movement that would promote arts and unity in his hometown. His local success with Symphony 21 gained the attention of the Kennedy Center, where he recently performed and gave a talk on the “Power of Music.” Links - https://danielbowenmusic.com/ https://www.symphony21.org/ July 16th, 2016 performance of Daniel's "Blood Moon" featuring the American Studio Orchestra - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJwMKH630wQ For all our picks and lots of other information about The List, go to - www.rightfiction.com Spotify Playlist for this episode - https://spoti.fi/2OgOROB
